Home Sales and Prices Up in March, Ninth Month in a Row
The Iowa Association of Realtors® (IAR) announces that Iowa home sales and prices were up in March.
According to IAR’s March 2012 Housing Trends Report, home sales increased 18 percent from last year at this time. March was the ninth consecutive month of increased sales. The report indicates a total of 2,559 homes sold/closed in March 2012, while 2,168 homes sold/closed in March of last year.
Prices were also up last month, as the median sale price increased by 8.2 percent since last March. Prices had been holding steady for the past several months. March 2012 showed the largest increase in prices since January of 2006.
